A Very Rare and Very Much Sought-After Lemania WW2 Dirty Dozen Military Issued Soldiers Watch in Original Condition
The “Dirty Dozen” watches are very well known within the Military watch-collecting community and are well documented in the watch world. All 12 brands have gained a great following including the present example we have on offer, the Lemania variant among the circa 150,000 watches made, Lemania produced around 8000-10,000 pieces. Classified for “General Service” but issued to special units including radio operators and artillery staff members the “Dozen” are highly sought-after watches by any serious collector.
What's on Offer
As collectable as ever and growing rarer every year, this Lemania Dirty Dozen has been well-preserved and boasts all of the hallmarks we expect to see including the bold Arabic numerals, recessed seconds dial at 6 o'clock and the broad arrow denoting it as property of the MoD. It is in absolutely original condition so we expect to see a few signs of age but this watch has faired pretty well and even has its original lume on the hour plots and sword hands. The Lemania has a chrome-topped cased and it is fairly standard to see a little brass peeping through, but this is just part of the ageing process and adds to its charm! The caseback bears the original military engravings we expect to see and they read: Q6185 WWW 327227
A fantastic piece of horological and military history that is very much sought-after, this watch is running well and keeping good time.
