British Military Issued Lemania Single Pusher Chronograph White Dial from the 1950s

This Lemania HS9 was a UK Government issue to the Royal Naval Fleet Air Arm. HS stood for Hydrographic Survey, which meant mapping harbours and waterways. The 9 was its watch specification number which stood for Chronograph. The number 0552/924-3305, indicates that this specific timepiece was produced for the British Royal Navy between 1945 and 1950. Other indicators such as the engravings on the case back hint at a life dedicated to the life of its country.

What's on Offer

Inside the crisp 39mm stainless steel case displaying only light wear beats the reliable and robust manual wind Lemania 15CHT caliber and the case features a screw-on case back and fixed lug bars. The watch curves beautifully to fit on one's wrist which leaves the striking dial wonderfully pleasant on the eye. Topped with shatterproof plexiglass the Lemania really comes to life on a nice NATO strap or leather strap which rounds off an incredible piece of history that can be taken and worn anywhere.

The dial remains in fantastic condition barring one issue, its broad arrow marking which was once placed in the centre has been historically painted over, why someone would do this we are unsure. This minor element does not take anything away from the beauty and robustness of this classic British military timepiece. There is a nice aged patina to it, whilst the case shows no sign of significant damage or wear. This example represents an outstanding opportunity to own a really desirable timepiece steeped in history and one that has probably seen significant historical events.
