A Handsome Hamilton Geneve 6BB Military Issued Watch with Original Military Engravings, Issued 1975

The Hamilton Geneve 6BB military watch is a remarkable piece of history, renowned for its robustness, precision, and functional elegance. Crafted to meet the rigorous standards of the British Ministry of Defense (MoD), it was issued to RAF pilots in the 1970s. The designation "6BB" marks it as property of the British government, specifically tailored for aviation purposes.

Featuring a straightforward, legible dial with luminous hands and markers, the Hamilton Geneve 6BB was designed for optimal readability under all conditions. Its stainless steel case, typically around 36mm in diameter, ensured durability while maintaining a comfortable fit on the wrist. Inside this timepiece ticked a reliable mechanical movement, ensuring accuracy even in the demanding environments faced by military personnel.

Today, the Hamilton Geneve 6BB is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike. Its historical significance and timeless design make it a standout piece that celebrates Hamilton's legacy in producing military watches that are not only functional but also carry stories from their time served on the wrists of heroes.

What's on Offer

This watch is in remarkable condition considering its age of nearly 50 years! The dial has remained rich black and the bold Arabic numerals are still brilliant white and crisp, probably because it laid in the draw of a collector until we purchased it from his family along with many other watches all in similarly fantastic condition!

The original sword hands are in superb shape and boast their original tritium (as denoted by the T circle emblem) lume which has aged to a beautiful pale yellow hue, as have the lume plots for the hour markers.

The military pheon is present at 6 o'clock and also on the caseback, this denotes the watch as the property of the MoD. The dial is completed by the Hamilton signature which is underwritten by Geneve.

The watch is robust by nature and as such is running well and keeping good time. These watches are very collectable but also very wearable and look great on the wrist whilst remaining light, comfortable and legible.
