In 1984, Breitling made a brave bet on the Chronomat, a robust mechanical chronograph inspired by the Frecce Tricolored chronograph created the previous year with Italy's esteemed aerial squadron. The Chronomat became Breitling's all-purpose watch and served as a fitting tribute to the brand's centenary, reasserting the mechanical chronograph at the forefront of Breitling's timepiece repertoire.
The Chronomat showcases a 42mm case with the traditional four rider tabs on its bezel. Combining 18ct rose gold and an anthracite dial, the watch is appointed with a black rubber strap and driven by the Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01 -- a COSC-certified chronometer.
